Here’s what we’ll be covering this term in Year 4:
English
In English, we will be reading the story ‘Egyptian Cinderella’. We will be learning the text and exploring the different characters. We will then be writing our own versions of the story.
We will then be writing non-chronological reports on dragons.
Our class story will be ‘Charlie Changes into a Chicken’.

Maths
In Maths, we will be exploring fractions. Learning to find equivalent fractions and adding and subtracting them. We will then be learning to tell the time in five-minute intervals.
The focus remains high for our times, and we will continue to practice daily using TTRS.

History – we will be learning about the Ancient Egyptians RE – We will be learning how different faiths live by certain values. Science – we will be learning about electricity and how to make a bulb light up in a circuit. DT – using our knowledge of circuits, we will be designing and making light-up boxes. |
PE
PE days are Tuesday and Thursday
Tag Rugby and Dance
Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing; this can be in the form of plain black tracksuit bottoms or plain black shorts and a plain white or red t-shirt.
Homework
Homework will be set each Monday on Dojo. The home learning will be reading, spelling and TTRS practice.
We encourage children to read at home every day and log this onto BoomReader. It must be logged at least 3 times a week.
