Here's what we'll be covering this term in Year 1:

English

In English this term, the children will be learning a wishing story called The Magic Paintbrush and exploring non-fiction text on instructions writing.

 


Maths

In Maths this term, the children will be learning about number and place value within 100, addition and subtraction within 20 and multiplication and division.

PE

We have PE every Thursday and Friday

In PE this term, the children will be learning about rounders and athletics.

It is essential that all the children have the correct PE kit in school for these lessons.

Your child’s PE kit can be in the form of plain black tracksuit bottoms or plain black shorts and a plain white or red t-shirt. No items of jewellery are to be worn on PE days. In order for us to be able to return any items of clothing that might get lost/mislaid, please name your child’s clothing clearly.


Homework

Reading with your child at home at least three times a week. Please record this on the BOOM reading app.

Purple Mash activities should be completed at home when set on a Friday and then submitted for marking. Dojo messages will inform you when work has been set.

Other

All children need to bring their book bag to school every day, so that we can read with them when the opportunity arises.

As the weather will be getting hotter, all children need to bring in a school water bottle filled with water.
