Sports and After School Clubs
Cutenhoe Hill Primary School runs a FREE before-school sports club every morning from 7:55am-8:40am, term-time only.
Having before-school clubs provides many benefits to families at the school, including:
- Raising the attendance and punctuality of children at school in general
- Improving children’s mental health by helping them to start the day with exercise
- Providing children with additional opportunities to develop the skills of physical activity outside their normal PE lessons
The sports clubs are free for children, so that all children can have access to extracurricular activities regardless of income. The PE teaching assistant's contracted hours now include the before-school clubs and registers are kept each day to monitor the attendance of different groups of children (SEND, Pupil Premium, etc.) and to potentially target low-attending groups.
The before-school clubs tie into the Luton School Games competition calendar so that there is a clear pathway for children who attend clubs to apply their skills in interschool competitions (though any child can be chosen to represent the school in competitions, not just those who attend clubs).
Sports club is for pupils in Years 1 - 6
- Monday – Dodgeball
- Tuesday – Football
- Wednesday – Rounders
- Thursday – Netball
- Friday – Multi Sports
If your child is new to the before-school sports club, please come into reception and fill in the registration form, which should be returned to your child's class teacher or Mr Seymour.
- Children need to arrive at the Top Green gate at 8am.
- Children should be wearing trainers and sports clothes (not school PE kit). They will need their school clothes to change into.
- NO BACKPACKS – Children will need to store additional clothes in one of the black drawstring bags which can be purchased at the school office.
- They will need their school water bottle.
Children are escorted to their classrooms at 8.40am where they can get changed into their uniform for the start of the school day.
Choir Club
Our Choir Club takes place after school on a Tuesday between 3.30 and 4.30pm. This is for Years 1 to 6 only. Invitations are sent out on Dojo, or please enquire at the school office.
Performing Arts Club
Our Performing Arts Club takes place after school on a Wednesday between 3.30 and 4.45pm. This is for Years 5 and 6 only. Invitations are sent out on Dojo, or please enquire at the school office.
Rugby Club
Our Rugby Club takes place after school on a Thursday between 3.45 and 4.45pm. This is for Years 2, 3, 4 and 5 only. Invitations are sent out on Dojo, or please enquire at the school office.
Homework Club
Our Homework Club takes place after school on a Thursday between 3.30 and 4.30pm. This is for Years 3 to 6 only. Invitations are sent out on Dojo, or please enquire at the school office.
Netball Club
Our Netball Club takes place on Friday mornings between 3.30 and 4.30pm. This is for Years 5 and 6 only. Invitations are sent out on Dojo, or please enquire at the school office.
Please note: Parents and Carers can collect their children from the Key Stage 2 Airlock at the end of each after-school club. The school does not allow children to walk home alone.
