English

Maths
We follow the White Rose Maths Scheme and the topics that will be covered are:
- Re-cap and Assessment
- Alive in 5
- Growing 6,7, 8
Maths – Reception (number)
- Count objects, actions and sounds
- Subitise
- Link the number symbol (numeral) with its cardinal number value.
- Count beyond ten.
- Compare numbers.
- Understand the ‘one more than/one relationship between consecutive numbers.
- Explore the composition of numbers to 10.
- Automatically recall number bonds for numbers 0–10.

Every Tuesday morning for both Poppy Class and Tulip Class
What will the children be learning:
- Revise and refine the fundamental movement skills they have already acquired:
rolling
crawling
walking
jumping
running
hopping
skipping
climbing - Progress towards a more fluent style of moving, with developing control and grace.
- Develop the overall body strength, co-ordination, balance and agility needed to engage successfully with future physical education sessions and other physical disciplines including dance, gymnastics, sport.
Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing; this can be in the form of plain black tracksuit bottoms or plain black shorts and a plain white or red t-shirt.
No jewellery is to be worn on PE days
Homework
Listen to your child read at least 3 times per week and log on boom reader.
Practice phonics at home – look at class dojo for weekly updates.
Look at numbers and shapes in the environment.
